Two in Perak : Both are won by Pakatan Rakyat
One in Sarawak: Won by BN.
What are the significance of all these??
1. Don't quickly jump to conclusion that support for people by Pakatan Rakyat is the same as March 8 election.
2. This is because, both are won by Pakatan were in Perak, I interpret it as this: Perak people are in a disagreement on sudden change in their state government. But two places can't say all. Unless a state-wide election takes place and the margin goes much higher, only I'm convinced on this theory.
3. The dynamic of the support on the national level towards either BN or Pakatan might change with the recent appointment of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. But what makes it more important is that the return of Tun Dr. M to UMNO and this can play a significant role in gathering back the support from Malays, which is now split into UMNO,PAS and PKR.
4. The easiest swing is from PKR to UMNO. UMNO, please don't hope much swing from PAS, you cry blood lah.
5. The positive perception as a result of the return of Tun Dr. M to UMNO and endorsement of Datuk Seri Najib can be a big boost to UMNO, but UMNO could now be well fragmanted as a result of its recent elections. For example, there was a question mark on why KJ can get away with "Lembaga Disiplin" and still won the election. This splits Pemuda and therefore, weaken UMNO in general.
6. The media is attacking DSAI head-on as usual. But I saw that it's is too blunt and people don't like it, especially the Malays (we're sensitive people).
7. What could be a weapon (i.e media) could just be a double edge sword for BN. So handle with care.
8. People need to maturely distinguish between a functioning government with political parties. Failure to do this will get our country grinding to a halt.
9. At the end of the day, the average Joe's like you and me need to be asking yourself not to waste too much time on political things after elections - we should get back to work and accept it as a reality.
10. Unless to some people who are no longer in touch with the reality - they tend to ignore these results and therefore continue making mistakes in the long run.
