Angels and Demons

Angels and Demons is nothing but a typical Hollywood plot with a little twist at the end. Nothing spectacular about the plot, but of course the movie have upper advantage with Tom Hanks as the hero and Ron Howard as a director.

Ron Howard is the "fire" special effect specialist. You can see throughout the movie that the usage of gory fire burns are amazing. There are a couple of instances where we can see that (you watched the movie already, you should know). I think he likes to use the fire burns from bottom, going up. It's amazing special effect.

Tom Hanks as usual is a great actor, playing an innocent professor who doesn't believe in God (or in the process of believing). I have no comment on his acting. But I think there are a lot of empty slots for him to get more for the movie. There are some silly heroic efforts like scene in the library where he tried to break the glass. I think this can be done better (of course, this is based on Dan Brown's book, but I thought the scene can be much more dramatized).

For Ewan McGregor, you be the judge. I think he played nicely as an innocent, ambitious young man. Also, the hot Italian scientist is a nice addition.

All in all, typical plots with nice effects and strong characters.
